Restylane® for a
renewed, youthful you
When it comes to aging, some of us look in the mirror and see wrinkling. Others of us see sagging – and sinking.
There used to be little anyone could do for shrinking cheekbones and thinning lips, but today, dermal fillers like Restylane® can add natural-looking volume to lift facial skin and smooth wrinkles at the skin’s surface.
Restylane® adds volume and fullness to the skin to improve the appearance of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Restylane® can also enhance and define lips for a fuller, smoother look.
What Happens as We Age?
As we age our skin becomes thinner, loses elasticity and loses the fat layers below the surface that keep skin plump and smooth.
Dermal fillers, like Restylane, are facial injection treatments that help diminish wrinkles while restoring volume and fullness in the face and hands. All Restylane® products are transparent hyaluronic acid. These naturally occurring acids are sugars found in the skin that help provide hydration, fullness and elasticity. In older skin, hyaluronic acid breaks down, causing the skin to lose volume while increasing the chances for wrinkles and folds to appear.

What is Restylane®?
Restylane® is an injectable, hyaluronic acid dermal filler. Hyaluronic acid attracts and holds water at the injection site. The attracted moisture gives the skin a plumper, fuller appearance.
Restylane® is also used to add volume and definition to lips and soften vertical lines around the mouth. It can also fill and smooth skin on the backs of hands, where sun damage can cause excessive signs of aging.
The Restylane® family of products includes Restylane® Silk, Restylane® Lyft, Restylane® Refyne and Restylane® Defyne. Each is a unique gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that acts like your body's naturally produced hyaluronic acid. Each Restylane® product is designed to treat a specific issue for optimal results.
Blush Aesthetics offers Restylane® dermal fillers to help restore a natural and youthful shape to lips, cheeks and other areas of the face, or the hands, that have lost volume over time.
How long does Restylane® treatment take?
Restylane® injections usually take minimal time away from your day. Depending on your current skin condition and goals, most Restylane® treatment appointments last less than an hour. The injections begin to work almost immediately by adding volume to smooth away wrinkles.
How many treatments will I need?
Initial Restylane® treatments are usually completed in one or two sessions. Depending on your individual body chemistry, we will work with you to determine a maintenance schedule.
Is Restylane® Painful?
We use an ultrafine needle for Restylane® injections. Treatment is painless for most patients, but we have a local anesthetic available for your comfort if needed.
How soon will I see Results?
You may see smoother, younger-looking skin immediately. It can take a few days for Restylane® to settle, but optimal results may take up to two weeks.
How long do Restylane® results last?
With full Restylane® treatment, you can see lasting results.
- Up to 18 months in nasolabial folds with Restylane®
- Up to 12 months in the cheeks, six months in the back of the hands, six months in facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, with Restylane® Lyft
- Up to 6 months for lips and perioral rhytids with Restylane® Silk
- Up to 12 months in the facial wrinkles and folds (such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines) with Restylane® Refyne and Restylane® Defyne.
What are the side effects of Restylane®?
Side effects are rare with Restylane®. However, you may experience redness, pain, swelling, bruising, headache, tenderness, lump formation or itching at the injection site. These side effects are typically mild and last less than seven days in nasolabial folds and less than 14-18 days in lips.
Who is not a good candidate for Restylane®?
We do not recommend Restylane® for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, under the age of 21, have recently used blood thinners, have a bleeding disorder or have drug allergies, including lidocaine.
